Bond 2024

Basehor and Linwood communities -

In a historic move, the Kansas Secretary of State announced that the March 19 election will be a Presidential Preference Primary election. This will only be the third time this has happened in Kansas (also 1980 and 1992)!

This means any other election needs to take place at least 45 days before or 30 days after that March 19th primary, so after working closely with our bond counsel and the Leavenworth County Clerk, the Bond 2024 election date has moved to April 18, 2024.

The $60 million dollar no mill increase bond issue would allow us to:

  • make Safety and Security improvements around the district
  • build additional classrooms as well as a multipurpose space, restroom renovations, and performing arts upgrades at BLHS
  • build additional classrooms for preschool and childcare at our Early Learning Center
  • as funding allows, we would also make athletic facilities improvements at Basehor-Linwood High School and Basehor-Linwood Middle School
  • as well as other renovations necessary to existing District facilities, as funding allows

You can find more information on these planned bond projects on the flyers above, with an updated timeline below reflecting the voter registration deadline of March 28 and election date of April 18, 2024.
