USD 458 is the fastest growing city and school district in Leavenworth County. The Legends area, east of our school district, is expanding with business and industry. The District’s location and commitment to education make us the logical choice for many new families moving to the area.
To this purpose, Basehor-Linwood has significantly expanded its facilities over the last several years. A bond issue, valued at $39.9 million was approved in the fall of 2007. The bond resulted in construction of a new middle school, a new intermediate school, additions or renovations to two elementary schools, a Health and Wellness Center, the construction of new soccer and softball fields and a concession/restroom building. In addition, a $16 million bond was passed in April of 2015 to construct a Career and Technical Education addition to the high school and expand safety and security features in every attendance center in the District.
Basehor-Linwood schools have always had a reputation for excellence, which is reflected by consistently high ACT scores and Basehor-Linwood High School’s recent recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2012. Excellent schools and increasing population make Basehor-Linwood USD 458 an exciting place to be a student, a parent and an educator.
