Basehor-Linwood Unified School District 458 serves students and families in a 90 square mile area of southern Leavenworth County, Kansas. Pre-K-12th grade students attend one of eight district attendance centers. K-5 buildings are located in Linwood, Basehor, and the Gray Hawk and Glenwood Ridge subdivisions. An Early Learning Center opened in 2020 for preschool children in the district. More than 650 students in grades 6, 7 and 8 attend Basehor-Linwood Middle School in Basehor near the center of the district. Basehor-Linwood High School is also located in Basehor and is a 5A school, serving just over 900 students in grades 9 through 12.

A 2024 bond issue was passed by the community to expand Basehor-Linwood High School and Early Learning Center. Additions to the high school included improvements to the performing arts center, construction of a 3-story classroom wing and multipurpose center, and athletic facilities improvements.  The Basehor-Linwood Early Learning Center received additional preschool classrooms and childcare spaces in addition to an indoor discovery zone.

The district also operates Basehor-Linwood Virtual School, an internet-based school serving approximately 200 K-12 students statewide. Special Education services are provided by the Tonganoxie/Basehor-Linwood Special Education Cooperative located in Basehor.
